The Monkey and the Wedge

Once upon a time, a monkey lived in a forest.

One day, he went to a nearby village.



He saw carpenters working on a tree.

They were splitting the tree with a wedge.


The carpenters went for lunch, leaving the wedge.

The curious monkey climbed the tree.

He saw the wedge in the split tree trunk.


The monkey pulled the wedge out.

The tree trunk closed with a bang.


The monkey's tail got caught in the trunk.

He tried to pull his tail out but couldn't.

The monkey cried in pain and fear.



The carpenters came back and saw the monkey.

They freed the monkey's tail from the tree.

The monkey learned not to meddle with things he didn't understand.


Moral:

Don't meddle with things you don't understand.
