The Loyal Mongoose

Once upon a time, a farmer had a mongoose.

The mongoose was loyal and brave.

The farmer had a baby boy.

The mongoose loved the baby very much.

One day, the farmer and his wife went to the fields.

They left the baby at home, asleep in his cradle.

While they were away, a snake entered the house.

The mongoose saw the snake and fought it.

After a fierce battle, the mongoose killed the snake.

The mongoose was covered in blood.

When the farmer and his wife came home, they saw the mongoose.

The wife thought the mongoose had hurt the baby.

In anger, she killed the mongoose.

Then they saw the dead snake and the unharmed baby.

They realized their mistake and felt very sad.
